HOW YOU CAN HELP

Work is due to commence on the Clubhouse Development later this year. For the latest news on the development, please read the attached Clubhouse Development Newsletter. Members can assist with the funding of this project by volunteering to pay two years' subscriptions this year at 2008 rates. By paying for two years worth of membership now you will ease the Club's cash flow during the work and shelter yourself from the 2009 increase.

By funding the work this way the Club is hopeful that they will not need to seek additional finance from outside lending. April renewal reminders are about to go out and it is hoped that many members will take up the Club on this offer. The same offer will be made to the members who renew in September. In return the Club will be flexible should your personal circumstances change over the two year period. For those who are interested in taking up this offer, but whose membership category status will change next year because of age, you just need to pay one of each rate this year.

3) a completed pdf version which you can look at to see how the form should be completed.

2008 Rates

There is a change in the classes of membership for 2008. To simplify the categories and to ease record keeping the following changes have been made:

Membership Categories

1) Family, Adult/Spouse and Parent/Child Memberships have been abolished.
2) A new system replaces the above whereby a full adult joins and there are substantial discounts for family members joining at the same time (the net result will be the same in most cases, although some people may be slightly better or worse off)
3) In an attempt to encourage young adults into the club, a new discounted category of 18-25 has been created
4) We have simplified junior memberships in to two categories, Under 10 and 10-17

Membership Rates

1) The full adult rate has increased in line with RPI at just over 4%
2) Discounted memberships have increased at a higher rate to help fund the new category of 18-25.
3) Membership for Under 8's is no longer free. A small fee is being charged to cover affiliation fees and court usage.
4) Fees for the older juniors (over 10) has been reduced from 2007
5) In response to member feedback in regard to last year's increase, Fitness Room fees remain the same as 2007.
